Better late than never...

This week has been full of things to be thankful for and full of things to pray for...

I am thankful for...
* Salah Dianna Sheen - she's beautiful and is doing great. Congrats John and Khesia!
* Seeing my Mom earlier in the week. We missed her and Cherish very much. It was a short and sweet visit
* Being able to hang out with my sister so much. Love my lil Ry-Ry!
* My family!

Please pray for two girls in my classes...
- Stacy: She had a stroke and is having to re-learn everything. She was able to legibily write her name this week. She has two children.
- Felicia: She lives in Asheville and her and her husband were in a motorcycle accident. Her husband was killed and she is in critical condition. She is able to respond through blinking.
Please remember that your family is your number one priority and to never take a single thing for granted. Girls, we're praying for you!

Salah Dianna Sheen

Nicholas' sister, Nakhesia, had her little girl early this morning. We were at the hospital for 10 hours, left because we thought it was going to be awhile, and not an hour later, she had her. She was born at 6:02 this morning weighing in at an even 8lbs. She has a ton of hair and is very alert. Everyone is doing great and looking great. Congratulations Khesia and John!

Not My Child Monday!

Jalen did not take his weiner out in the middle of Michaels with Jessica and I. He did not say he was going to pee on the floor and poop. I did not tell him to put that thing away before he didn't have one! Nope, not us!

Jalen does not pretend he is Michael Jackson now. I did not catch him singing and telling me he was Michael Jackson. You know there is way too much stuff on TV about this if your two year old is pretending to be him.

When Mom is Gone...

On Monday, Nick and I watched Ryan while Jessica slept and we had a blast. We took Ryan and Jalen to Paint Your Pot in Apex and they got to design their own plates, which we pick up today after work. After the experience I said I would never take Jalen and Ryan by myself because they are a handful. Ha, but it was fun!! Can't wait to pick them up. Ryan left around 6pm because his Mom and Dad forgot to pick him up, but he said he was thankful because he loves it with us. We can't complain because he is so cute and his Mom brought us dinner and an ice cream party!

Cape Lookout

What a wonderful trip this was -- It was lots of fun and very enjoyable. We got to sit on a beach with no one in sight and have a picnic on a beach where whole shells were present. Then, sail over to a lighthouse, which was pretty cool. Overall the day was a blast.. Read more in a previous post - I'm late on pictures!

Thankful Tuesday

Well, this past week has been yet another summer-filled week. On Thursday we left for the beach. We got there and it was rainy and nasty, but we still managed to have fun. Ordered some pizza and headed to the waterpark until 11. Jalen proceeded to fall asleep with everyone while Jessica and I headed out for a midnight grocery run. Woke up and enjoyed the beach for 2 days and then, headed home, but not before a stop at Grandnana's. She is doing well and looks great. Loved seeing her grandsons. Yesterday, I got to watch Ryan for awhile because Jessica is plain worn out and needed some sleep. God bless her because I would be a bleep if I got the amount of sleep she gets. We went to Paint Your Pot which was a lot of fun. Jalen made a plate. Ryan made a plate. Nicholas made a basketball bank. We get to pick them up all potteried up on Saturday. It is a fun place to take kids and I recommend it, but they have a coupon in CitiPass books that is very much needed. Can get expensive without it. Or just don't take big kids along. Just kidding. I love him. :-)

I am thankful for --
* A safe trip to and from and around the beach
* Being able to watch my nephew for the day and see him the entire time at the beach - I know when people are having their second child they wonder how they will ever love the second as much as the first, but I now know you can love someone just as much because I love him like he's my own. But I did worry if I'd ever love someone as much as Jalen, but it is possible!
* A house that does need straightening! Atleast I have a house - ya know?
* Seeing Jalen talk so much better and clearer. His imagination has taken off in the past week and it is too cute!

What are you thankful for??

My Little Meat Man -- It's a Family Thing...

Thankful Tuesday..

This week has been a pretty productive week. I've managed to get a lot of cleaning, organizing, and straightening done, but there is a lot more to be done. I'll battle the bathroom cleaning when we get back from the beach. Ahh, the beach! We leave Thursday for the beach until Sunday. I am excited because I love seeing Jalen down there. If you can imagine a smile from ear-to-ear all day long, you'll know why. His smile and eyes together can melt your heart. It does mine.

Khesia, John, Nicholas, and I had a funny conversation the other night. Khesia asked us how we managed both of our parenting skills. She said her and John had different ways and they didn't know how to deal with it in other words. She asked how we do it. I pretty much said, me being me, that we have different styles of parenting and most of the time we do it our own ways and when our ways clash it is whoever yells the loudest or makes the other one mad first and gives up that wins. She started laughing and asked if I was serious. I said 'yeah, pretty much.' Thought it was funny. Nicholas just started laughing because he knew it was true. Side note: usually I win because I don't like tears and sceaming. :-)

I am thankful for...
* my family - can't be thankful enough because they are pretty darn awesome..
* a beach trip in my near future - pray for safe travels!
* getting into a routine with my new summer session schedule - this semester is a lot of petty work. Seriously, why do I have to respond to everyone's post and there are 15 posts? Seriously, we all say the same thing. Oh well...
* Cherish -- she's with my Mom until we get back from the beach and boy, do we miss her? We feel a bit safer at night. I hear all the creeks in the house when she's not here.
* Jalen's funny sayings -- they make me laugh
* my job -- leaving Jalen is hard, but I'm thankful I have the opportunity to work. I get to meet awesome people. (RIP - Tony Diaz, we'll miss you!)

What are you thankful for?

Yes, I know I am slacking on the pictures. Soon! Soon!!

Thankful Tuesday.. Oops Thursday!

Jalen and I got back yesterday from a wonderful, very much needed visit to my Mom's. We were able to go on the boat all day Tuesday. We went and saw Cape Lookout and spent the day on the beach there. It was beautiful. You never realize how populated the beaches are until you go to a remote beach like the Cape. You could look down and see whole seashells and even find sand dollars. Lindsay and I waded out to the boat and floated the coolers back. We had a pic-nic lunch on the beach and it was so much fun. The lighthouse was great. Pictures will come soon of that. I forgot my camera at Mom's. Oops! I came home and the house was spotless. :-) All of the relaxing came to an end when I had to work yesterday, but I'm off today.

I'm thankful --
* for beautiful weather while we were out on the boat.
* a safe drive back -- just Jalen and I
* my family .. one of the guys from HD is fighting for his life and it is hard to believe that one moment someone is with you and the next they are gone. You can't take anything or anyone for granted.
* I won a Thomas toy for Jalen. Visit www.tipjunkie.com to see! Pretty cool.. Hope it arrives soon.
